Mango Lassi
After going to dinner at an Indian restaurant one day, I decided I really wanted to know how to make this drink, so I spent 3 days experimenting until I came up with this recipe.
Ingredients
- 1 Mango
- 1/2 cup orange juice
- 1 cup milk
- 1 cup plain yogurt
- 2 tablespoon sugar
- Alternately: Use 1/2 cup of milk and 1/2 cup of yogurt, and add a few ice cubes instead. This will result in a slightly less tangy (because of the lesser amount of yogurt), but colder, more "frozen drink" feeling, drink.
Preparation
- Chop mango into small pieces
- Put mango and orange juice into blender and blend until no chunks/pieces of mango remain (~ 1 - 1 1/2 minutes)
- Set mango/orange juice mixture aside
- In blender, put milk and yogurt (and ice, if using it), and blend until mixture is even consistency, and starts to puff up a little bit (~ 1/2 minute or so)
- Add mango/OJ mixture and sugar to blender
- Blend all ingredients together for another 1/2 - 1 minute (until even consistency)
- Serve right away
- Makes 2-3 Servings
